Objectives
Upon completion of this activity, the physician should be able to:
- Demonstrate a contemporary multidisciplinary
approach to global cardiovascular intervention.
- Appropriately select patients for renal
intervention and choose the most appropriate renal
intervention option.
- Assess patients with carotid and vertebral artery
disease, identify high-risk anatomy, and choose
appropriate therapies.
- Apply guidelines and diagnostic techniques to
select patients for closure of atrial septal defects
(ASD/PFO).
- Gain a further understanding of the adult with
congenital heart disease and how they can be managed
in an adult clinical setting.
- Evaluate the efficacy of new techniques and
devices for treating structural heart disease.
- Gain further understanding of transradial access
for coronary and endovascular procedures.
- Identify appropriate patients for endovascular
repair of aortic aneurysms and dissections.
- Apply the basic clinical, cognitive and technical
skills required to begin a global cardiovascular
interventional program.
Target Audience
Peripheral Angioplasty and All That Jazz will be of value to interventional cardiologists, interventional radiologists, vascular surgeons, nurses/nurse practitioners, physician assistants, technologists and others involved in treating patients with cardiovascular disease.
